Tom Long is a Professor of International Relations in the Department of Politics and International Studies at the University of Warwick and Profesor Afiliado in the División de Estudios Internacionales at CIDE, Mexico.His research sits at the intersection of International Relations, History, and Latin American Studies, with a focus on the dynamics of power asymmetry, US-Latin American relations, the role of Latin America in the world, small states, and North America.Tom is author of two books: A Small State’s Guide to Influence in World Politics (Oxford University Press, 2022) and Latin America Confronts the United States: Asymmetry and Influence (Cambridge University Press, 2015). He also edited two books on North American regionalism. He has published articles in journals including the American Political Science Review, International Organization, World Politics, International Security, International Affairs, International Studies Review, and Past & Present.
