Tom has worked across a variety of sectors in his career. Spanning form retail and restaurant management in his early days, moving into retail banking management with one of the world’s largest banks. Since 2013 Tom has enjoyed success working at Cornwall College which he joined as an administrator and has now progressed rapidly to manage European funding projects and now mainstream Government funding. He is a specialist in Education and Skills Funding Agency funding streams, particularly subcontracting and compliance to the government funding rules. Tom manages key accounts on behalf of Cornwall College, including business to business engagement and sourcing and securing high value contracts to expand the offering and quality of the college’s provision. Reporting also plays a significant part in his existing role, his wide range of stakeholders all have different requirements from quarterly Board reports to subcontractor monthly financial reporting.Tom also has vast experiencing in auditing on both sides of the spectrum. As an auditor, Tom has designed audit processes, procedures and documentation which continued to be used by his organization and uses these processes to audit his subcontractor network.Tom excels at process design and implementation. Alongside the audit process development, the recently introduced General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018 required big organizational changes. Tom lead and succeeded on the review of the colleges existing processes and the subsequent implementation of organizational changes for Cornwall College, whom recruit thousands of leaners and employ 1600 staff, to become GDPR and DPA 2018 compliant.
