Supported by well developed systems and operational routines, we drive predictability into the order management process. The team currently includes; Global Transportation, Trade Compliance, Distribution Operations, Customer Service, Performance Metrics, and Fulfillment Solutions.

Global Transportation is part of the Customer Fulfillment organization. Our team includes; Transportation Operations, Trade Compliance, Direct Ship Operations, & Freight Audit/Payment. Timberland sources footwear and apparel from 15+ countries across the globe. The Transportation Operations team ensures the timely and cost effective movement of supply into and out of our distribution centers in the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia. With advanced logistics concepts and systems, detailed shipment visibility is continually updated at each key milestone, ensuring our order management system reflects the most current and accurate view of supply availability. Our Global Trade Compliance team has expert level knowledge of Customs regulations, HTS product classification, global trade programs, FTZ administration, and compliance operations. Trade Compliance drives duty optimization through close collaboration across the company, from Product Development to Sourcing.

The Direct Shipment program (aka: DC bypass) is part of the Global Transportation organization. Through automation we are able to establish and monitor the systemic connection of a customer demand order to an existing supply line. Supported by scan & pack functionality, the order is shipped “customer ready” from the factory. The program alleviates DC capacity constraints, supports faster delivery, and reduces costs.With system and process improvements, we grew the program to record levels, with 25% of the North America order pool moving through the Direct Ship program. The program helps level load our Distribution Centers and saved $450K in processing costs annually.

During my tenure, Celestica was a $10B manufacturing company with a global manufacturing footprint and customer base. As part of the corporate logistics team, my primary responsibilities included the timely and cost effective movement of raw materials and finished goods. This included management of a diverse network of logistics service providers, with a global annual spend exceeding $100M. Additionally, the corporate logistics team supported new business development by creating customer specific models illustrating the financial and operational benefits of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) hubs for global customers.
