Embedded within the engineering team at Hethel I am responsible for the QA of incoming parts. Inspecting parts to engineering drawings, building subassemblies and full modules for the novel production of peptides and developing testbeds and test materials, this involves handling high value resin products, hazardous chemicals and easily damaged components on a daily basis.Working closely with the other members of the team, I support the test engineers in certifying completed modules, the electrical engineers to produce interconnects and terminate cables for communication and data collection, and the engineers in the production of new designs for module or testbeds. Building inventory logs and streamlining the storage and location of parts, ordering common materials and parts, I ensure that the workshop stock levels are maintained. I also liaise with our bespoke parts manufacturers to maintain incoming quality.
