Embedded within the engineering team at Hethel I am responsible for the QA of incoming parts. Inspecting parts to engineering drawings, building subassemblies and full modules for the novel production of peptides and developing testbeds and test materials, this involves handling high value resin products, hazardous chemicals and easily damaged components on a daily basis.Working closely with the other members of the team, I support the test engineers in certifying completed modules, the electrical engineers to produce interconnects and terminate cables for communication and data collection, and the engineers in the production of new designs for module or testbeds. Building inventory logs and streamlining the storage and location of parts, ordering common materials and parts, I ensure that the workshop stock levels are maintained. I also liaise with our bespoke parts manufacturers to maintain incoming quality. I am responsible for producing the documentation for the assembly of our major products.I contribute to the ongoing H&S development and monitor certain health-and-safety protocols, bringing them up to date as chemistry changes within the production process.• Inspection of 1000s of parts, including £100k of PTFE.• Identifying and rectifying manufacturing defects to eliminate downtime in laboratory testing.• Generated log and produced analysis of OOT parts for production process improvement.• Delivered “critical features and care point” document.• Generated inhouse test equipment to support the delivery of FAT testing.• Led PTFE etching process transfer, including report documents.• Facilitated HSE documentation, including risk assessments for liquid sodium etchant. • Delivered lab layouts to streamline build process.• Delivered internal development module building, including the chemical etch and bond process.

Diagnosing faults and replacing faulty components in consumer electronics. Reporting repairs, working with the team and completing work in a professional, timely and with a fix-first-time attitude is the everyday focus on the workshop floor. Communicating with stores, allocations & QA, ordering parts, working with multiple departments, and maintaining an electrostatic safe workspace are all necessary to getting the job done. This is a role that comes with a great deal of responsibility. I am tasked as a moderator to look at how schools have applied the marking guidelines to their coursework to ensure consistent and fair marking across the playing field, to maintain the validity of the examination system. This calls for communication with centres, with team leaders and with principal moderators. It requires adhering to strict procedures and deadlines.​As an examiner, I apply the mark scheme to thousands of GCSE exam papers to ensure pupils receive the marks they earned on the day. Online standardisation, attention to detail and working quickly and accurately to tight deadlines is absolutely crucial to the smooth progression of the marking process, to get the right marks out the door in time to award the GCSEs.

I primarily worked within inclusion centres and taught a unique academic program of science and maths to pupils that had been repeatedly let down by mainstream education. All my pupils had complex emotional, social and/or behavioural needs and it was my job engage them in a program of education that would allow them to achieve their potential. As a technical salesperson I would answer customer queries and send them to other shops if I knew it was cheaper (lose one sale, gain the rest of theirs).
