Leading the investment appraisal of all gas storage capacity offers, driving commercially focused decision-making throughout the UK gas storage business, and identifying, monitoring and providing mitigation to commercial risks whilst maintaining a view on political, regulatory, market and competitor impacts to the business.

• Reporting to both the Senior Vice President Steam & Biomass Business Controlling and UK Finance Director.• Business partner and key contact for all financial matters relating to the Steam and Biomass segments (coal and biomass-fired power stations) within the UK.• Responsible for ensuring detailed submissions are made on behalf of the UK power stations within the Steam and Biomass segments for the annual, bottom-up budgeting, and within-year re-forecasting processes, providing challenge and compliance with group policy.• Carrying out detailed year-on-year, and plan-on-plan variance analysis, tailored for different audiences, using business, industry, and market knowledge to inform senior management of changes to budgets and forecasts, and against actual monthly performance.• Carrying out project financial evaluations, including scenario and sensitivity analysis, for multimillion-pound projects.• Working with external auditors on quarterly financial close processes, financial control monitoring, and providing information and insights for their pension covenant assessments.• Finance expert on two Decommissioning and Demolition Steering Committees.
