Also served as the technical expert on two multi-level secure systems - Operations Intelligence Workstation (OIW), a multi-level secure system designed around Sun’s Trusted Solaris Operating System - and the Command and Control Guard (C2 Guard), a multi-level secure system designed around a proprietary operating system.Engineered, implemented, and tested numerous cross-system interfaces in Korea (i.e., automatic message and image transfer from the Forward Area Support Terminal (FAST) to PASS-K and ASAS-W; PASS-K on the TROJAN SPIRIT; Automatic message transfer from the Improved Commanders Tactical Terminal (ICTT) to PASS-K and ASAS-W; Overlay transfers from the PASS-K integrated ASAS-W to standalone ASAS-W; and others. These systems consist of 46 Solaris 2.5.1 (UNIX) based workstations and 32 Microsoft Windows NT based workstations running a variety of applications in various configurations. Provided specific technical and system administration support on various applications - - Army Deep Operations Coordination System (ADOCS), Maneuver Control System - Phoenix (Beta) (MCS-P), Army Reconfigurable Workstation (RCW), Warlord Notebook, and others running various operating systems to include Microsoft Windows NT 3.5.1/4.0 Workstation and Server, Sun Solaris 2.5.1, and Sun OS 4.1.4. Served as the primary network engineer for the 2d ID’s dynamic, medium sized LAN/WAN comprising various transport media to include Fiber Optics, Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cabling, RG-58 Thinnet cabling, RS232/RS422/RS530 and Conditioned Di-phase (4-wire) interfaces over both short and long haul communications equipment. Provided configuration, maintenance, general support and installation of this LAN/WAN using a variety of equipment to include Fore Systems Ethernet Switches (10/100 MBS), Desktop Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) modules, Satellite Communications Equipment, Cisco 2514 Routers, Army Tactical Packet Network Interface Equipment, and Global Positioning System (GPS) based Network Time Servers. Provided software debugging/troubleshooting and fault isolation/resolution on all supported software applications. Additionally provided general hardware troubleshooting and maintenance on all systems listed above as well as Hewlett Packard laser printers.

Served in a variety of intelligence positions (such as: Battalion and Brigade S2 NCOIC; Brigade S2 Battlefield Intelligence Coordination Center OIC; Requirements and reports NCOIC for a theater HUMINT operation; Rear Battle NCOIC for a Theater Army Support Command; and Senior Intelligence NCO for a Field Army). Key Achievement: Gained extensive knowledge of all facets of tactical and operational intelligence and electronic warfare operations, as well as a working knowledge of strategic and national intelligence operations.
