Major Thomas B. McLeskey was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in May 2008 after completing Army ROTC at Ole Miss. As an Armor Officer he attended training at Fort Knox, KY. Upon completion in January 2009 he was assigned to Company C, 2-198th AR in Oxford, MS. In May 2009 he mobilized with his unit for deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He led the "University Grays" for the year long deployment, executing combat missions throughout norther and central Iraq. After a successful tour and redeployment to the states, then 1LT McLeskey was selected as the aide-de-camp to the Deputy Commanding General, Combined Joint Task Force- Horn of Africa in Djibouti. He served as the aide for 18 months, directly influicing the success of two Brigadier Generals serving in the Deputy Commander position. Once home, he was selected to Command Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2-198th AR and promoted to Captain. Simultaneously, he served at Joint Forces Headquartes and was selected to attend the Resident Maneuver Captains Career Course at Fort Benning, GA. In 2018, the 155th ABCT was again mobilized for service in the Middle East. CPT McLeskey served as the Senior Plans Officer in 2-198th AR for the 16 month mobilization and deployment.Currently, Tom McLeskey is serving as a Major at Camp Shelby, MS as the Plans, Operations and Training Division Chief and is a member of the Dunn Roadbuilders Leadership Team.
