Ngata (hello).I am a proud Gunditjmara man and a creative professional with training across numerous fields. I currently work at Monash University Performing Arts Centres (MPAC) as the Senior Producer, First Nations, uplifting Indigenous creative programming across all of our activities and venues. Recently I was the Manager, Indigenous Inclusion in the Office of Indigenous Strategy & Innovation at Deakin University. I supported the delivery of Deakin's First Nations Education and Employment Strategies, as well as developing initiatives to increase access, outreach, success and retention for Indigenous students.I'm a theatre actor, director & playwright, working across many projects over 15 years, and am a founding member of the award-winning ensemble 'Bloomshed'. I received the 2023 Green Room Award for Best Performer (Independent Theatre) for my solo performance in 'The Mission', which toured Australia in 2022. I hold several arts and NFP governance positions.I am licensed by Mental Health First Aid Australia to deliver Aboriginal Mental Health First Aid (AMHFA) training, please reach out if this is of interest.I also have a strong history of working in customer-facing roles, including at Victoria's biggest theme park Adventure Park Geelong - coordinating memberships, group bookings & guest services, as well as supervising a small team. This was a fast-paced & demanding working environment, with up to 8,000 guests visiting on any given day, including corporate events & school excursion packages that I facilitated & delivered for groups anywhere between 20-3,000 people.My passions are many: finding, developing, writing, producing or supporting new stories, & employing my various artistic skill sets to bring them to life. Another is the promotion of human rights, equality, access to justice & education, and Caring for Country. I am passionate about increasing access to opportunity, especially in tertiary education & the arts, for First Nations People.I hold a Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Performing Arts (LLB/BPA) from Monash University, a Graduate Certificate in Management from the Australian Institute of Business, and a Master of Business (Arts & Cultural Management) from Deakin University.
