I gained an introduction to commercial banking including the studying of business plans and funding requirements. Introduced to the range of services offered by HSBC commercial banking including advisory, financing, trade & supply chain, investing, foreign exchange, transactional banking, research & analysis, payments & cash management, international services.Specific focus on international banking and the management of currency exchange risk. Of particular interest was the facility to trade in Chinese RMB which was a key currency traded by Abacus Lighting. Gained a very rounded view of HSBC’s domestic and international operations.
