Co-founded Brighton Marathon in 2009 and Event Director since 2010. Developed Grounded Events (GE) to organise and deliver the first Brighton Marathon. Developed GE company into a multi-event business.Brighton Marathon is one of Europe’s largest running events, and one of the UK’s biggest fundraising sporting events. Brighton Marathon has created over £12million in economic impact for the city of Brighton & Hove annually, since its inception. Brighton Marathon has inspired 1000’s of people to take up running and has a proven positive impact on the health of the city. Brighton Marathon Weekend attracts 100,000+ spectators across the event footprint.Developed Brighton Marathon into a weekend of events including Mini Mile Races, BM10k, BM Ride, and a sports and lifestyle Exhibition held at the Beach Village. The event also incorporates a medical conference attended by over 300 medical professionals focused on furthering medical understanding of issues faced at mass participation running events. Lead on innovation and new concepts for industry to include first large-scale running event to use exclusively online registration, live participant tracking, dynamic running number assignment and deliver digital participant instructions.Driver of unique charity commercial partnerships model – increasing annual revenue for Brighton Marathon Weekend by £500k and support charity fundraising growth to over £3m.Working alongside event Medical Director, created a medical team strategy that reduces net inflow to local A&E on Brighton Marathon race day. Supported re-writing of local Ambulance Services Cardiac Arrest protocols at running events. Created and launched numerous events – BM10k, BM Ride, Run the World (free event for 10,000+ primary school children) and Brighton Trail Weekend.Brought Electric Run and Ragnar Relay, from the US to the UK. Inaugural Electric Run hosted 15,000+ participants at Wembley Stadium.

For nearly eight years I was co-owner of Run Shop Ltd. We owned two shops, one in Hove, the second in Worthing. I sold my share in the company to take on my current position at GEC and to organise the first ever Brighton Marathon.
