I am passionate about empowering individuals to become both responsible for themselves and charitable toward others. Through my work, I strive to help others (and myself) to become so empowered. I believe that philanthropy is free-market capitalism’s vindication. And I believe that education is civilization’s armor.I also believe that taking responsibility for oneself and others leads to happiness, and that happiness, in turn, can only be pursued in a world in which subsidiarity, freedom, limited government, and deference to the truth exist. Furthermore, I hold that while no person can fully know all truth, all persons and peoples, it seems, can and must acknowledge that, first, objective truth exists and, second, we humans can only behold objective truth — and, also, true love and true happiness — through hard work, humility, compassion, integrity, honesty, and, occasionally, self-sacrifice. In accord with these, I strive to live my professional life. In accord with these, I also strive to live my personal life as a son, brother, uncle, friend, Roman Catholic priest, occasional cigar-smoker, and avid Johnny Mathis fan.
