In October 2023 I graduated from my bachelor’s in international business administration atthe University of Twente. During my studies, I got the opportunity to learn about a widevariety of aspects within business. What has been most fascinating to me, was to see howvarious stakeholders interact and communicate with each other during business processes onan international level. I also had the opportunity to study a semester abroad in Trento, Italy.During my semester abroad I worked on projects with international partners and in teamswith people from various nationalities. After this experience I knew that in my subsequentstudies, I want to continue to work in an international environment.While gathering data for my thesis on strategic marketing and servitization, I had theopportunity to speak with diverse stakeholders. During this process I enjoyed most to studyand analyse business processes and purchasing decisions. Diving deeper into this subjectmade me even more interested into how much every aspect of business is intertwined withpurchasing and supply decisions.After my bachelor’s, to gather practical experience I decided to start an internship atKapten&Son, a German backpack, and accessories company. During this internship, I got aunique insight into a young and heavily growing business. My main responsibility here was tosupport in managing the customer service in the Dutch market. I have worked within multipleprojects to improve the customer experience of international clients. Together with my teamwe also worked on optimizing the issuing of spare parts to customers. In this time, I workedtogether intensively with various business units within the organisation. I became more aware of the fact that every aspect of business leans on purchasing and supply decisions, motivating me to specialize in this part of International Business. My goal is to deeply understand whycertain decisions surrounding purchasing and supply management are being made, enablingme to pursue a future career in this field.
