This position is responsible for delivery of all project scope for decommisioning and demolition of a twin Magnox reactor site to a point that the site is considered passively safe in a “Care and Maintenance” mode. The total budget for this set of projects is approximately £397 million and it is seen as a pathfinder project for accelerated decommisioning of a nuclear facility in the United Kingdom.In addition to my project related duties while in the UK, I also am serving as the chairman of the Magnox South Health, Environment and Safety Advisory Committee (HESAC). This committee provides a forum for discussion between the company and the recognized trade unions on matters concerning health and safety, employee welfare and the environmental impact of the company’s operations.

This position is responsible for all aspects of management of a twin Magnox reactor installation, post generation. Primary responsibilities are to manage the team in the safe an efficient defuelling of the reactors. Additionally, to bring decommissioning expertise to the site and to guide the transition from an operational organization into one that is set up as a decommissioning project.

This position was responsible for all aspects of the safe and compliant decommissioning and demolition of the systems, facilities, and structural components that make up the 105 KE Fuel Basins. This facility housed spent nuclear fuel rods from production reactors in a million gallon water basin until the fuel was successfully removed in 2004. The scope included; system deactivation and removal, facility decontamination as required, dewatering of the basins, placement of Controlled Density Fill into the basin, and final demolition of the basins and their surrounding structures
