Developed a concept to protect the Iraqi infrastructure country-wide to include its massive oil and gas pipelines that extended nearly 7,000 KM. Then, with a cadre of 7 battalion commanders and a British contractor set out to recruit, equip, uniform, train, deploy and pay over 15,000 local nationals. After 10 months on the mission, our team was able to protect 257 oil and gas facilities and reduce pipeline explosions from 16 per month to 3 per month. This enabled repairs to be be completed in days rather than weeks and saving millions of US dollars for Iraq reconstruction.
