Specialties: I have over twenty-five years of professional planning experience in the public sector. I specialize in urban planning with an emphasis on solving complex, politically sensitive problems in a collaborative manner that engages elected officials, technical experts, special interest groups, and the general public in developing mutually-beneficial outcomes.I have directed the Sacramento 2035 General Plan Update, the new Planning and Development Code, the new Mixed Income Housing Ordinance, the Sacramento Center for Innovation Specific Plan, and outreach coordination for 65th Street Station Area Infrastructure Financing Plan. I also directed the Operational Fee Study for the Community Development Department, implementation of the Climate Action Plan, and the Planning Academy.I am active in the American Planning Association, having been a speaker and panelist at numerous national, state and local conferences. I have also been a mentor in the PLAN mentoring program for new planners.Previously, I was the Deputy Community Development Director for Planning & Engineering at the City of Stockton, responsible for advance and current planning, design review, historic preservation, environmental impact review, development engineering, encroachment permits, assessment districts and infrastructure finance, and flood control planning.
