Shareholder

New York, New York, Us

My goal is to be a trusted business partner for my clients. Every matter requires a different approach, and business goals should drive litigation strategy--not the other way around. I help clients defend commercial litigation and products liability matters, with a particular focus on pharmaceutical and medical device matters. I represent a global leading medical device manufacturer in products liability matters throughout the country, particularly in California and Minnesota state courts. I also represent a major grocery retailer in public nuisance claims in several bellwether matters around the country. I represent numerous other clients, primarily in the life sciences market, in commercial litigation matters around the country. I am also passionate about diversity, inclusion, and belonging in the legal industry. Many people have worked to give me the opportunities I have had, and I devote a substantial portion of my time to ensuring other diverse attorneys and law students have similar opportunities. Outside of my billable work for clients, I have a pro bono practice focusing on civil rights and immigration law, particularly representing LGBTQ+ asylum seekers.

Presently on appeal. - Representation of a major enterprise software company in patent infringement and trade secret lawsuits brought by a large competitor, in which a favorable settlement was secured. - Representation of the plaintiffs in Bostic v. Schaefer, the lawsuit which successfully challenged Virginia’s constitutional and statutory bans on same-sex marriage in both the Eastern District of Virginia and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and which proceeded to invalidate similar bans throughout the Fourth Circuit. - Representation of a major retailer against claims of employment discrimination on behalf of a large class of California employees, a suit in which the retailer successfully defeated class certification.- Representation of two Mexican LGBT asylum-seekers and their daughter, in which a full grant of asylum was secured and appeal rights were waived by the Department of Homeland Security.
