In December 2023 I graduated with a merit in MA Visual Anthropology at the University of Manchester’s Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology. This course involved learning of practical filmmaking, photography and sound recording skills combined with the relevant academic anthropological contexts surrounding them, providing me with a plethora of skills which have been demonstrated in my portfolio of work developed throughout the year. Previously I received a First Class Honours in BA Sociology and Criminology from the University of Hull with a particular focus on the sociology of art, visual culture and popular culture. While attending the University of Hull I became the head of photography for the Hull student media, a role which contributed massively to my skills in photography and editing, particularly on Adobe Photoshop. Such skills have been further added to by my hobbies in creation of original artworks through manipulation and editing of both analogue and digital photography and video. My previous work experience has consisted of service and retail positions, having worked in the Princess Alexandra pub in North London over the summer months of 2021 and 2022, volunteering in a Barnardo's charity shop over the summer of 2019 and most recently working as a Barista at Moose Coffee Piccadilly in Manchester. I pride myself on both my creativity and aesthetic sense as well as my ability to work well in teams meaning I would love to work in a creative, communicative and social environment.
