About Tom Perry

I am currently a student studying for an Advanced Diploma in GIS at Selkirk College’s School of Environment and Geomatics in Castlegar, British Columbia. I am originally from London, UK, and have always had an interest in the 3D structure of Earth and its natural environments. I completed a four-year undergraduate MSci in Geoscience at the University of Durham and a one-year postgraduate MSc in Structural Geology with Geophysics at the University of Leeds. After this I worked as a Geophysicist building 3D geological models for resource exploration and subsequently as an Outdoor Guide in Europe and North America. For the last 1.5 years I have been working as a Field Scientist and drone pilot for a UK Tech company, leading a team collecting UAV and Terrestrial LiDAR measurements in the tropical forests of West Africa and Central America to estimate carbon the stored.
