Thinking outside of the box is not something you always associate with accountants. I am still amazed by the lack of proactive tax advice I see in the industry and the complacency that some firms show towards their clients. There are still plently of easy wins for businesses who do not favour aggressive tax saving measures, such as share restructuring, research and development claims or capital allowances on buildings, in addition to general best practice measures. All too often accountants are happy to produce a "great" set of accounts which the client does not value, disregarding significant tax saving measures. At AGS we offer our clients all of the options available, and leave them to decide what course of action they want to take. We understand that clients do not want their accountant to merely report on the historic performance of the business. Offering the tools to improve performance is where the real difference can be made and understanding business processes is the first step to eliminating waste and improving efficiency. Having gone through extensive lean training and applying these principles to our own business we feel that any potential client can benefit from this advice.
