IA Interior Architects enjoys a shared model of senior leadership made up of a Chairman, two Executive Directors and an Executive Committee. As Executive Directors, Tom Powers and David Bourke run the firm and establish the overall strategy and policy reporting into IA’s Founder, President and Chairman, David Mourning. David and Tom also Co-Chair IA’s Executive Committee which is made up of firm-wide leaders; Helen Watts, Managing Principal, Los Angeles; Jeff Miller, Managing Principal, Seattle; Joe McClelland, CFO; and Mick McCullough, COO/Managing Principal, San Francisco. This committee advises and assists the Executive Directors in the development of goals, policy and firm direction and provides leadership in reaching established objectives.Tom’s passion is for the practice and as such his primary area of focus is to continue build a global architectural practice focusing on the workplace. Fueled by the belief that growth and sustained prosperity can only come from a focused and strong practice providing Integrated Design (the fusion of design and workplace strategies) coupled with exceptional technical capabilities and world-class client service; Tom will work with each office and practice leader to assure that the resources of the firm will be available to each IA employee and the clients they serve. He will continue to oversee the Central United States and Canada as Regional Managing Principal working directly with the Managing Directors of each within these offices as well as the Managing Principal of the Chicago office.
