After being a Senior Manager at Hart Shaw in Sheffield with responsibilities for SMEs and latterly management consultancy for 18 years I joined the National Skills Academy for Manufacturing in April 2007.I became Head of Finance with the Academy in June 2008 reporting to the MD and a non-exec board made up of blue chip companies including Corus, Bae, Nissan and Sheffield Forgemasters.Due to reorganisation I was made redundant in March 2010 and have since taken on an interim management role working with the Sector Skills Councils of Cogent and Semta.That role led to the creation of a successful funding bid which resulted in the creation of the Composites Skills Alliance. In April 2011 I attained the role of Composites Business Manager for the Alliance.Due to restructuring within the Cogent Sector Skills Group the responsibility for the running of the Alliance was transferred to SEMTA which led to my role being no longer required and resulted in a new challenge being sought.This challenge has been met by my new role as Senior Manager with BDO in Sheffield and returning to a key position within a Professional Services Firm.Specialties: Strategic Consulting around internal sytems of control.Research and preparing of Business Plans.Coaching and mentoring of Business Teams.
