Mentoring our safety team and leading safe practices by example.Providing support to the workforce and projects teams on decommissioning hazards that we encounter in the demolition and running of a historic nuclear facility. As the Health and Safety rep I work in the field for excavations, demolitions, environmental and characterization sampling campaigns, review and create work packages, oversee contractors work, and provide on site training in various subjects. From the Industrial Hygiene role I also hold I provide asbestos abatement direction, perform hearing testing for the workers, create and deliver training programs, create and maintain inventories on the industrial hygiene and OSH equipment, perform in field readings for hazardous chemicals, and complete various assessments to support facility owners.Overall I enjoy the many roles I have the opportunity to perform including trainer, respirator program coordinator, Safety Specialist, Industrial Hygiene Technician, presenter, and auditor.

Training contractors on the safety requirements at our site and how federal and provincial regulations differ.- With decommissioning our role has become more of a supervisory, leader role and we are expected to take charge of all aspects of a project as workers will look to us for guidance and project leaders will require us to update management of progress or issues

- Compliance routines including decontamination of active areas. - Dressing and Undressing workers entering and exiting contaminated zones.
