During my apprenticeship, I enrolled at Tameside College to pursue a Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering concurrently with my Design and Draughtsperson NVQ. Throughout this period, I maintained full-time employment and actively contributed to numerous projects focused on fire protection systems for naval vessels, including those commissioned by the Royal Navy.My key responsibilities encompassed the design and modification of various elements within these systems, followed by their meticulous manufacturing and rigorous testing prior to commissioning. These systems comprised of both relay and PLC logic, from manufacturers such as Allen Bradley and Siemens.

For the duration of my time at Casey's, my primary role initially involved operating high-pressure jet wash equipment. However, as I demonstrated a keen willingness to expand my knowledge and skills, I was given the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of machinery. This experience greatly enhanced my understanding of both engineering and fitting aspects of the job, fueling a deep-seated interest in the field. Whenever the opportunity arose, I eagerly assisted engineers in a variety of repair tasks, encompassing significant engine overhauls, complete undercarriage replacements, and the repair of various hydraulic components.
