Project Managing a variety of requirements running through the Development Team, both Internal and External. Includes writing specifications, development and testing, implementation, documentation and support. Engaging each stakeholder department across the entire group is key to delivering a product that is suitable for all users, and ongoing change and support is essential. Also providing ongoing support to the wider business in all areas as required, both technical and strategic.

Running the Studio team covering data processing, document composition and artwork/pre-media. Working with all areas of the business from Sales to Production, to assist in client on-boarding, project management, and shop-floor delivery, to name but a few. Also running key projects whilst providing day-to-day management of the 12-strong Studio team, including the Pre-Media department.

Running the small Special Projects team, focus on a wide variety of campaigns. These included big DM print campaigns spanning a number of months, personalised website projects, email campaigns, and more. This utilised a much wider skillset than running pure DM campaigns, and also gave me great exposure to leading a highly skilled, dynamic team.

Working alongside Studio Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the Studio team. Providing a point of technical escalation and leading by example in terms of skills and attitude. Assisting in process improvement, recruitment and selection, and staff development. Project managing key campaigns for top clients.

My main role is setting jobs using GMC Inspire Designer for production via press, full colour sheetfed and continuous digital, and continuous mono. I also assist CTP during busy times, and carry out data processing in Cygnus. I take on a number of complex jobs, working alongside Client Services and clients themselves to provide the best quality possible. I regularly liaise with clients via email and conference calls to optimise the quality of briefs being supplied, and to streamline the proofing process, raising any issues at the earliest opportunity.

I rejoined the small team setting up PrintNet workflows for production on Xerox iGen3 and 1000, and Oce sheetfed and continuous mono machines. I also took on responsibility for the artwork side of the department, checking and correcting artwork for digital work using Adobe Suite, Enfocus Pitstop and Quark. I oversaw the installation of Nuvera sheetfed mono lasers in my manager's absence, including transition from IPDS to PostScript. I worked on major projects for large clients and was responsible for creation and maintenance of appropriate documentation.

I had to escalate any issues or non-arrivals to client out of hours contacts, and keep production staff aware of the situation. Outside of this, I also set Direct Mail jobs in GMC PrintNet T, and carried out data processing work using Cygnus. I also made produced plates using Magnus equipment when required by Press operators.

Raised from Trainee position to full team member.

In my first full-time position, I learnt PrintNet T and became familiar with the Direct Mail industry. I adapted quickly, and was the first team member to have not been sent on an official GMC course, as the business felt it would not be worthwhile due to having picked up PrintNet so quickly. Before being promoted to a full team member, I was performing on-call duties along side established team members.
