Applied Marine Technician working at Plymouth Marine Laboratory Applications (Ltd), specialising in marine engineering with the Centre for Marine Biofouling and Corrosion.Previously studied the marine and coastal pollution of microplastics throughout MRes Applied Marine Sciences. My studies included working with Plymouth Marine Laboratory on microplastics, with further studies in terrestrial, aquatic pollution and environmental/marine legislation. Undergraduate studies at the University of Plymouth includes environmental/ marine conservation and planning, applied marine research and data processing. Intermediately trained in ArcGIS and Mini-tab with basic/intermediate analytical skills. Previous work includes volunteering in Leatherback turtle conservation with Ocean Spirits, working with locals to combat the decline of species numbers. Volunteering included night patrols where turtle identification, egg counts and nest recording were conducted. Furthermore, day patrols to retrieve nestlings for release at night and frequent emergency call outs for leatherback nesting further out from our conservation area.
