I have recently passed my PhD in Silicate and Borate chemistry, primarily preparing micronutrient formulations for agriculture. I also prepared and published a series of novel materials. My main interests lie within chemical research in the field of materials or formulation chemistry.During my time in university, I have been a course representative for the student union, working to improve the department for future students. My contribution to this role led me to being shortlisted for the "Student Choice Award" in the Bangor Student Led Teaching Awards 2016. As part of the third year of my BSc. I published a dissertation project entitled "The Synthesis of Novel Polyborates using a Transition Metal Cation", and have published an RSC-style research journal article on a 12 week research project under the supervision of Dr. Leigh F. Jones on synthesising novel coordination polymers using Schiff base ligands.I have co-authorship on two papers as a result of the work I've carried out during my PhD, and have presented some of my pre-publication research at international Boron and Silicon conferences in Boston, MA, Barcelona and Montpellier. I have particular interests in renewable/modern energy generation or storage, molecular storage, targeted drug delivery systems, modern catalysis, and agrochemicals. I have additional experience in running my own agricultural trials, as well as chemical analysis of plant extracts, preparing formulations and the preparation and analysis of novel solid-state compounds.
