I have a keen eye for detail and a passion for New Zealand’s unique environment and as a biosecurity officer I specialise in the management of invasive pests that threaten Canterbury’s indigenous biodiversity and production land. I am currently with Environment Canterbury, this is a position in which I assess production land for compliance with invasive pests, to ensure that land-occupiers align with the Canterbury Regional Pest Management Plan. I lead a handful of projects throughout Canterbury that manage the distribution of invasive plants that threaten our regions indigenous biodiversity and productive land. These pests’ range in management classification from sustained control through to eradication and rely on experience procuring, managing and auditing contractors to meet objectives.As an ambitious person, I enjoy working in a highly motivating practical position that’s provides an opportunity for advancement within the environmental industry.
