During my time with Kent Police I undertook a 19-week training period. This training period included both written work and physical exercises. There were many exams to prepare for and information to retain in a short period of time in a high-pressure environment. The physical training session would start at 0600 and would be high intensity workouts. It was also a very disciplined environment and has given me an excellent work ethic. After passing the training programme I was moved to the Tonbridge local policing team. During my time with the team I have been to various emergency calls and have developed great communication skills. I was put in situations of conflict and able to stay calm. I was also able to keep people reassured when they were going through a crisis. As a police officer I have gained experience of having a large amount of paperwork and tasks to be done, including taking statements and updating crime reports, I was able to stay on top of my workload. Being with Kent Police has taught me many transferable skills and I am now looking to put those skills to use in another field.

During my time with Basil I mainly worked as an assistant serving customers and taking orders in a fast paced, busy environment, I would work often as a barista and would also prepare food for customers. I would fill out various paperwork that needed completing as well as run stock checks.

I worked full time at the café in which I had many roles. These included serving tables, taking orders, preparing food, running the till, stock management, making coffee and making sure my customer service had a positive impact on people so they return to the café. I also take calls that come in about various enquiries.

My role was to advise customers in suitable pet choices, how to care for a pet and respond to general enquiries from customers visiting the department. I would deputise for my manager during their absence and have experience of stock management. I would take telephone calls from many customers often requiring information on their animals and would handle animal reservations over the phone.
