Responsible for the delivery of a SAS extract transform load (ETL) system for Sopra Steria’s largest actuarial client, a large assurance firm running a closed book portfolio; enabling high quality risk based modelling as part of Solvency II work. Development of Sopra Steria core business; leading transformation of data analytics and visualisation through the creation of a SAS Centre of Excellence.

Responsible for the design and implementation of a SAS analytics platform; significantly enhancing the organisation’s ability to gather and analyse data for its three million UK customers. Leading a large team of technical developers and architects to build, support and maintain the SAS server environment through the full development lifecycle.Successful delivery of this platform has enabled us to integrate billions of pieces of disparate customer data from multiple sources across the organization into a single, actionable customer view. This enables critical analytics activity, marketing decision-making and business performance reporting, as well as informing credit risk scorecard development.

Responsible for the development and delivery of technical business intelligence solutions to enable informed strategic decision-making. Leading a team of data analysts to create solutions using a suite of products including SAS, SAP, Qlikview and Microsoft Office tools.

Key responsibilities included development of existing model validation methods, benchmarking and proving models to the organisation’s internal model governance committee, re-modelling the scorecard to incorporate credit card customers and ad-hoc analysis project work.

Development of a new customer segmentation model, providing business critical data to inform acquisition decisions, customer communication activity and strategic business objectives. Other key highlights included the successful delivery of bespoke propensity models, development of customer attrition analysis and profiling and descriptive analysis of the customer base.

Responsible for reporting and analysis of all aspects of marketing campaign performance. Development of SAS environment with centralised data, macros and format, providing a focused approach to knowledge structure. Provision of campaign design and statistical sensitivity guidance to Customer Marketing to maximise insight. Creation of solutions to measure key performance indicators, including net present value and customer segmentation across all business channels. Responsibility for coaching and mentoring junior analysts.

Reporting and analysis for the organisation’s credit card and retail loan businesses, innovating new reporting models including vintage portfolio analysis and new reporting focused on the introduction of chip and pin, balance defections, spending patterns, fees and online account servicing. Delivery of automation and enhancements to existing reporting models and development of business performance reporting solutions.

Design of online key accounts database, enabling a network of franchise holding consultants to manage client lists more effectively, whilst maintaining control of the overall network at head office.Delivered training to new franchise holders on direct marketing basics as part of the induction to the network.

Coordination of direct marketing for a regional office, including identification of sales opportunities and direct marketing activities. Other key responsibilities in this role undertaken as part of my degree course included the design and development of a regional marketing database, and competitor research and analysis.
