As an educator for 28 years I have had to fill many different roles. In the classroom I have been a professor, an entertainer, a manager, a facilitator, a leader, a friend, a counselor, an adviser and a disciplinarian. As a department chairperson I have helped oversee budgets, hiring, curriculum development and instructional resources. As an instructional leader in the building I have led staff development projects and facilitated small and large group meetings. As a college instructor I have worked with a diverse range of students as they start to build careers or transition into new ones. Now as a Student Success Coach in the School of Social Work at Wayne State University, I will be working closely with students in the BSW and MSW programs to help ensure that they not only complete their programs but that they thrive along the way and reach their true potential.
