-Provides dental services to a patient population which includes adults and children. -Provides leadership in clinic for collaborative projects such as Early Childhood Caries Virtual Practicum. -Leader of Nitrous oxide committee -Quality Performance Improvement Committee Member

-Provides dental services to adult population.-Provided treatment includes removable prosthodontics including same day dentures, oral concious sedation, full mouth extractions, alveoloplasty, tori removal, etc.

The Central Texas VA AEGD program is fully accredited by the American Dental Association. The distinct advantage of the program is lack of specialties to diminish the general practice residents' experiences. -Anesthesiology under continuous one-on-one supervision by the staff of the Anesthesia Section of Surgical Services. -Medicine: The residents will be expected to do medical histories and physical diagnosis under the direct supervision of a staff physician. -Oral Surgery: Participate in practically all types of oral surgery under the supervision of the oral surgery staff and consultants in both the oral surgery operatories and general surgery operating rooms. -General Surgery Operating Rooms:Assignment of residents to Surgical Service for instructions and training in operating room (O.R.) procedures, techniques, and draping will be carried out. . -Oral Diagnosis: A complete examination of the head and neck along with the oral cavity. 1 week rotation with Ear, Nose, and Throat specialists. -Restorative Dentistry: The residents will develop their skills and proficiency in various procedures of restorative dentistry with proficiency in the utilization of chairside assistants. -Endodontics: Residents will be trained in practical diagnosis and treatment sequencing of endodontic emergencies. -Periodontics: Instructions will be given by full time and consultant faculty in the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease. -Prosthodontics: The resident will carry out all phases of prosthetic dentistry. Instructions on cases will include diagnosis, mouth preparation, mounted diagnostic casts, and the use of articulators in both complete and partial, fixed or removable, dentures. -Conscious Sedation: Residents will be trained to competency in I.V. sedation, which meets the Texas State Board requirements of 60 didactic hours and 20 monitored cases.

Dental Assisting experience working with General Dentists, Oral Surgeons, Periodontists, and Orthodontists.
