As the technical director for the OWH websites, Mr. Samuelsen oversaw structure, content and design development; database development, integration, and migration projects; and all technical and graphic issues for the web site, its related toll free call center, and print materials development related to the project. Mr. Samuelsen coordinated graphic development for the site, ensuring that the site is attractive while efficient. He managed the evaluation and introduction of new technologies to the project and was involved in continual reinvention of the web sites to meet user demands, accessibility guidelines, and other requirements. Key applications developed by Mr. Samuelsen include:• Client Management Extranet. Allows the client and stakeholder staff to monitor project activity. Includes forms-based approvals module for new database records. (CFML. SQL Server. HTML. CSS.) • Action Items Management System (AIMS) – a task management tool for project manager which provided labor rate-driven cost estimates and actuals on demand. (CFML. SQL Server. HTML. CSS.) • Daily unattended news feed posting. Takes raw XML feed and imports into database for further manipulation and re-purposing. (XML. CFML. SQL Server. HTML. CSS.) • Inventory and fulfillment systems for womenshealth.gov, bestbonesforever.gov, and BodyWorks. Real time inventory system used to coordinate and generate product requests for fulfillment internally and at a number of external vendors. (CFML, SQL Server, PGP, HTML, MS Office)

Mr. Samuelsen was project manager for World Wide Web development projects, including the National Women's Health Information Center, the Defense Women’s Health Information Center, the National Action Plan on Breast Cancer, and the TriService Nursing Research Program. He handled web site content and design; managed information acquisition and storage; supervised subcontractors/vendors, and local employees; tracked all correspondence and tasking between customer and SAIC; and provided customer with feedback and recommendations on technical issues.

Mr. Samuelsen acted as Managing Editor of women’s health information projects. In this capacity, he oversaw web site content and design; managed information acquisition and storage; and managed projects in the absence of task leader.

Mr. Samuelsen managed web site content development, supervised part time employees; and reviewed proposals for subcontract to provide a toll-free clearinghouse for women’s health information.

Mr. Samuelsen provided general contract support to the USAMRMC Breast Cancer Research Program. He maintained research proposal files and provided computer support.
