I worked in the corporate finance team working on both transaction services and lead advisory projects.Since joining the department I have been involved in several DD assignments covering industries including insurance, shipping and manufacturing. My background in insurance audit has been particularly useful for insurance DD by giving me a level of technical expertise and industry specific knowledge. I have been given high levels of responsibility on all assignments which has enhanced my report writing, project management and communication skills.On lead advisory assignments I have been involved with jobs including raising capital for a technology start-up and the shareholder exit of a financial services company. I have also assisted with preparing pitches and proposal documents to win business for the team.

I spent three years working as a graduate in the Moore Stephens insurance audit team, gaining exposure to a variety of insurance clients. My particular focus was on P&I clubs and brokers, whilst also working on the audits of insurance companies and the firm's syndicate client.I seniored the audit of a P&I club during its first year as a client of the firm. Being a new client added additional risk and complexity to the job, which was dealt with through well designed procedures. This job required me to lead a team of 4, keeping in contact with the manager and partner to ensure they were updated on progress. I also seniored several broker audits during my final year as a graduate, again leading teams to complete assignments. Senioring these jobs provided me with leadership and project management skills that I continue to use going forward. Completing assignments from planning stage to completion shows that I understand the process necessary to complete projects, ensuring efficiency through team management.I performed two internal audits whilst in the insurance audit team, both of which were for P&I clubs. This required me to meet with various people in roles from department heads and CFOs to lower level employees. I then wrote highly detailed reports to summarise my findings which were used in board meetings to enact change. In particular this developed my report writing skills as well as giving me exposure to meetings high level executives.
