Advanced Purchasing – Responsible for obtaining quotes from our supply base for parts and materials in the Aerospace & Automotive fields, i.e. electronic components, steel and aluminum laminations, solenoid assemblies, actuators; Once quotes received & comparing for the best price & opportunity to work with that supplier, it was my job to recommend that supplier for the project(s); Worked closely with the Engineering dept. from day 1 of the project to ensure that the Bill of materials was complete & accurate so as to inquire correctly, that the right parts were being quoted and/or ordered; generated purchase orders to our team to send to suppliers for ordering; Worked closely with the President of the company & the Vice President of Sales in getting projects quoted timely (usually 5-10 days), so that a complete quote could be worked up & presented to our customers for their review to see if we could make that prospective part(s) and or project for them; Met face to face with suppliers; set-up & attended conference calls pertaining to company meetings & with suppliers to ensure accuracy everywhere;Inventory management – was responsible for managing inventory levels of various sizes of various types of material laminations in our facility (most notably steel & aluminum) & some laminations made only in the UK; received & shipped the correct amount needed to our customer(s) for projects they
