Investigating property and casualty losses for numerous insurance companies and their policy holders. In charge of negotiating repairs with contractors and customers for needed repairs following a covered loss. Interpreting policy coverage for covered losses and indicating if there is a possible coverage issue with a claim. Kept policy holder and the company claims adjuster notified of process of claim. Assisted the company claims adjuster of any subrogation and salvage potentials. Handling both homeowner and commercial claims. Also assisted with the Iowa Underground Storage Tank fund. Making sure that contractor work was inline with approved budget constraints when dealing with remediation of fuel-polluted ground where underground fuel tanks had leaked out while buried on site. Contact with contractors and clients that have ownership of sites that the fund was helping to clean, is an ongoing operation.

Handled both personal lines and commercial lines claims that dealt with everything from large theft losses to smaller property damages cause by vandalism, water damage, and fire. Conducted recorded statements, ordered police reports, pursued subrogation where available. Kept clients and agents up to date on process of claim. Negotiated with contractors and other 3rd party clients in the settlement of claims. Handled lost income that commercial policyholders had when the claim caused clients to close due to the claim. Was recognized as a top performer for customer service as well. When needed, was dispatched out on CAT duty to assist in physical inspection of properties that were affected by hurricanes, flood, and/or wind. Meeting customers face-to-face to help assist in assessment scope of loss. Also recognizing coverage issues and making sure that the appropriate coverage and limits were applied to all losses.
