Hired, with special permission from the US Treasury, seven days after GM filed Chapter 11 to lead the transformation of GM’s Finance IT function. Led urgent activities in a fluid environment associated with re-statements and filings required to exit bankruptcy after only 40 days and the largest IPO in history (at the time), the following year.• Established IT portfolio management processes for a $90M portfolio aligning business initiatives with technology investments• Assessed and re-constituted delivery and operations teams and project management standards• Delivered a modern financial consolidation system, based on a common chart of accounts. • Reduced close timing from weeks to days while improving accuracy.• Spearheaded initial implementation of SAP ECC 6 for global purchasing and accounting. • Led implementation of Treasury transformation including near real-time view of global cash.• Transformed profitability analytics providing an understanding of contribution for each vehicle sold.• Value delivered from improved profit analysis was $200M annually.

Brought in from outside to turn around and transition application services for EDS’ HRO joint venture with Towers-Perrin. Since being formed in 2005, the operation had not transitioned from a high-margin, niche player to compete in the commodity HRO market. Development and implementation processes were not standardized, new product deadlines were routinely missed, leading to substantial financial penalties. • Implemented product feature pipeline, delivery and quality metrics, standardized scorecards.• Completed two product releases and converted the two largest clients, each with $100M+ multi-year contracts. • Reduced annual costs $30M and successfully completed SEI CMMI level 3 certification on schedule.

Stepped in mid-program to turn around 8-year $300M Finance Re-engineering Program. Turned the worst, most plagued program into one of the most successful. Implemented rigorous program management practices. Delivered three major releases over 30 months providing for the first time ever visibility to understand profit contribution at a vehicle level which contributed $200M to annual profit due to improved product mix. Replicated best practices from this program across Enterprise Program Management Office.•

Led Ford's largest IT development and operations practice overseeing 500+ developers and support personnel, $100M in annual billings, and a portfolio of 200+ applications supporting multiple business functions. Tasked with resurrecting operations that had consistently failed to meet delivery expectations, establishing effective and repeatable processes, implementing financial and resource management controls, upgrading Accounting and HR systems, and building a cooperative team environment. Established clear SLA's and portfolio and project management practices. Lead shift in resources to offshore maintaining SLAs. Completed major enhancements to Accounting and HR ERP.
