HOW I GOT HEREI started playing guitar at age 13 and have kept at it to this day. I tied my love for music to my employment and began working at MI retail in 1982 at Ward-Brodt Music in Madison, WI. I started there as a guitar teacher, moved to Combo Sales and eventually to Purchasing Agent. One day hile placing an order to our rep at Gibson in Nashville, he suggested i move down and take hi job, he was being transfr=erred to the Custom Shop. I moved to Nashville in 1995 to take a position as a Sales and Marketing rep for Gibson Guitar. I too moved from the Gibson USA division over to the Custom Shop handling key accounts and helping bring Musician's Friend on as a CS account. I was later tapped to be the Oberheim Product Manager for a year, where I sold (and sometimes soldered) Gibson's keyboard and effects line.ON TOURI then left Gibson to become a touring guitar tech with acts such as Trisha Yearwood, Lee Roy Parnell, Keith Urban, Wynonna Judd, LeAnn Rimes, and Rock and Roll Hall-of-Famers John Fogerty, Hall and Oates and Aerosmith. D'ADDARIO ARTIST RELATIONS While working as a tech, D'Addario asked me to become their part-time Nashville Artist Relations rep. That position took off as Nashville became a "D'Addario Town", and I accepted a full-time position with them that I held for 10 years. I created a showroom where players could stop in and chat, grab some strings or accessory samples, and test out new products.RECENTLYCovid shutdowns in NYC brought that fruitful relationship to an end, and after sending out an email to my industry contacts, I quickly secured another Artist Relations position with the great team at Fishman Transducers which ended in January 2023.SKILL SETI have experienced the Music Business as a Musician, Teacher, Retail Sales, touring Guitar Tech, Manufacturer Sales and Marketing, and Artist Relations. My real-world experience working independently and as part of the varied types of teams that these positions required has given me a skill set to excel at any Artist Relations position. I am technologically savvy and proficient with all popular office software, video and audio recording and editing, and Social Media.
