Engineering Stores Supervisor

Marham, England, United Kingdom

Before starting employment at RAF Marham, initial vetting security clearance checks took place. As Store Supervisor I worked in conjunction with the RAF and BAE employees providing all trades with the tools and parts needed for the maintenance, repair, and upgrade activities to meet the requirements of the UK Tornado fleet. Tool stores at RAF Marham had very high-quality standards and processes which complied with the Maintenance Approved Operating System (MAOS) Mil Part 145 Exposition. I gained knowledge of all tool control processes including the management of inputting technical data of tools, lubricants (F & L) batch control and equipment calibration onto Microsoft Excel. I also used a manual tagging system to control the daily physical movement of specialist tooling accounting for every single item 24 hours a day. I ordered/demanded parts and tools when needed, unpacked goods which I then processed and checked ensuring quality and stored everything appropriately. In my first 2 and a half years I managed 2 Hangar stores ensuring the smooth running of it, general stock taking, while continually trying to improve the day to day running of the store. I liaised with external customers making sure all queries and requests were dealt with promptly. I recorded other necessary information such as Pat testing and radio control also onto excel. I also prepared all trades with the right tools and materials for flight tests and ground runs after stamping logbooks once a 100% store check was carried out. Redundancy forced me and many others to end my employment here.
