Provides innovation support and product claims substantiation through laboratory analytical testing procedures under an internship with a Croda Analytical Group. Conducts testing on an array of substances including agricultural chemicals, surfactants/emulsifiers, and pharmaceutical formulations. Prepares samples and performs calculations, operates analytical instrumentation, performs data analysis, and writes technical reports. Principally operates Waters Acquity HPLC systems with Waters Empower 3 Software, using advanced instrumentation techniques. Skilled in Fusion AE method development software to analyze product unknowns. Knowledgeable in ChemStation software by Agilent employing a Tunable UV (TUV) detection system and a Thermo Scientific Charged Aerosol Detector (CAD). Provides chromatography method development in support of REACH registration. Illustrative assignments include:• Analytical chemist, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals) registration project. In support of Croda’s regulatory department, develops chromatography methods for full analytical characterization of chemicals in products manufactured by Croda in the United States and destined for sale in Europe. Responsible for the characterization needed for getting chemicals registered for sale in compliance with REACH regulations governing the manufacture or import of chemical substances into the EU. Analyzes chemicals on a priority basis determined by companies for moving products to market. Uses Fusion AE software to aid in method development. Also responsible for substantiation of compositional claims of Croda products, providing concrete evidence of a product’s intended composition, often in fast-paced conditions. Writes technical reports for the regulatory department that are submitted with other safety and health data to the REACH review board.

Directed waterski program for camp serving 5,000 participants per year. Managed 17 staff members and a fleet of 10 boats, and developed and arranged schedules for waterski and sailing sessions. Administrative duties included coordinating pre-registrations and the schedules of 300+ campers to ensure all registered children were able to participate without schedule conflicts. Managed proper staffing of beaches through fluctuations in session attendance to ensure a productive and safe waterski program. Developed a daily rotating schedule for drivers, spotters, and others to assist campers while in the water, balancing equal time for staff across all job tasks. Responsibilities included mobilizing and motivating a teen-aged staffing force at various beaches, maintaining boats, and participating in program activities when short staffed. Earned Maryland Safe Boaters license and Ellis Lifeguard and CPR certifications while at camp. Previously for Tockwogh, managed waterfront administration and served as a camp counselor
