Tom Stockert, CPA (Inactive), born in Bismarck ND, graduated from University of North Dakota Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Accountancy. Following graduation he joined Norwest Mortgage in Woodbury MN. In 1994 Tom joined Eide Bailly LLP's Bismarck office as a staff auditor. Later as audit supervisor he focused on construction and mining. In March 1998 Tom joined Knife River Corporation (KRC) as a Financial Analyst. January 2000 he was promoted to Senior Financial Analyst. In May of 2000 Tom became Controller at Connolly-Pacific Co (CP), a KRC acquisition in Southern California. In January 2004 he was promoted to Vice President & Controller with responsibilities including finance, risk management and labor relations/human resources. In March 2006 Tom was named Vice President & Region Controller for KRC's North Central Region (Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Iowa and Nebraska) headquartered in Central Minnesota.In March 2013 Tom became CFO of Abhe & Svoboda, Inc., a recognized leader in the coatings industry, and one of the largest and most experienced industrial painting contractors in the United States.In June 2023 Tom announced his anticipated retirement date as June 28, 2024. On January 2, 2024, Tom transitioned to Vice President of Special Projects while transitioning his CFO duties to his successor and performing special projects to enhance operational support.In 2021 Tom helped found Friends of Minnetonka Parks and achieve 501c3 status. Tom currently serves on the board of directors, the executive committee and Treasurer.In 2023 Tom started walking shelter dogs on weekends. As of July 1, 2024, Tom anticipates walking shelter dogs many days and increasing his participation in park restoration efforts.
