Owner
In my own business I handle and install custom artworks of various scales into traditional and non-traditional settings and provide creative consulting for programing and/or outreach. I work primarily with artists commissioned by the Arts Council of Indianapolis, Indianapolis Museum of At, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, and other professional arts groups as a consultant to insure that new artworks are installed and “public-ready”.
Lead Technician And Marketing Manager
I traveled to 75+ breweries around Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois packaging beer, cider, and wine in 8oz, 12oz, and 16oz cans. I was responsible for the packing the truck with the day’s inventory, scheduling canning dates with clients, cleaning and sanitizing our mobile canning line, and ensuring proper fill levels. I also took control of the marketing and social media channels for the company. In my two years with IMC, I created videos and engaging content across all platforms using Hootsuite and implemented an editorial calendar to ensure consentient voice and messaging.
Art Instructor
I taught classes as part of the SMART after-school art program at Concord Neighborhood Center. I was responsible for creating lesson plans and educating kids 8-11 on contemporary art movements.
Assistant Teacher
I teach english as a second language classes to students who are arriving to study at universities here in the US. Classes cover not only how to speak english, but we have open discussions of cultural differences between the United States and the rest of the world.
Supreme Commander Of Neighborhood Happiness
I engaged with children and adults, mostly lower income and immigrant communities in Indianapolis, creating and documenting collaborative artworks that were celebrated creating happy + vibrant neighborhoods and communities. Big Car Collaborative serves as a umbrella for many placemaking projects and events that happen around Indianapolis. When I worked there, I was part of a 3-6 person staff that had hands on everything. Contributions to e-newsletters, web campaigns, creation of special invitations, signage, and photo/video documentation of all events for reporting were requirements for all projects. My signature project was transforming a 11,000 sq. ft abandoned firestone tire center into an arts community center called Service Center for Contemporary Culture and Community with a 1/2 acre on top of asphalt community garden. I was a lead fabricator and artist for the temporary buildout and maintenance of all amenities including a 20’x16’ performance stage, 18 garden beds, an outdoor chicken coop, 12 moveable gallery walls, an indoor soccer field, 3 large outdoor murals, and an indoor/outdoor dust-free screen printing facility. I managed over 2000+ volunteers over 2 years to complete building projects as well as maintenance of the 50+ year old facility. In May of 2014, all temporary improvements, including the outdoor garden, were relocated to multiple locations around the city. At Big Car, I filled multiple roles in a growing small non-profit. From program ideas to implementation, “not my job” wasn’t an option. Whether it was a large audience event such as TEDxIndianapolis or smaller groups of teenagers harvesting honeysuckle from blighted creek banks the same level of attention, detail, enthusiasm, and empathy was employed to all programs.
