Mr. Teschner’s practice is focused on complex business and environmental litigation, as well as the defense of malpractice claims filed against CPA firms, accountants, tax attorneys and real estate professionals.Mr. Teschner was admitted to the California State Bar in 2002 and has extensive experience in the defense of multi-party and multi-million dollar claims deemed “complex” filed against Fortune 500 companies stemming from a variety of environmental allegations, such as historical soil and groundwater contamination. He has experience in defending claims involving alleged releases of VOCs, metals, petroleum based products, nitrates, and emerging contaminants in California such as perchlorate and 1,4-dioxane. Mr. Teschner has also successfully resolved numerous professional malpractice claims, large and small. He has defended partners from the nation’s largest and most prestigious accounting firms, mid-level regional accounting firms, local San Diego firms and sole CPA practitioners in a variety of suits dealing with alleged tax shelters, improperly administered trusts, improper business valuations, failed tax planning, tax compliance errors, failure to detect internal fraud, inaccurate tax advice, and inadequate & incomplete preparation of compilations, reviews and audits. Mr. Teschner is also a licensed real estate broker and has defended California real estate firms, brokers and sales agents in cases alleging failure to warn, breach of fiduciary duty and deceptive lending practices.Mr. Teschner is admitted to all State and U.S. Federal District Courts in the Sate of California, the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
