Responsible for Asian Paints subsidiary companies in South Asia, South Pacific , Singapore and Egypt with business of over USD 230 Mn, leading a team of high calibre Country Mangers/Chief Executives across 6 countries, 10 factories and overall manpower of over 2000. During this stint there has been an increase in market share of over 2% in key market and introduction of over 9 new products and entry into new categories such as waterproofing. Also initiated the integration of the newly acquired Causeway Paints with existing Asian Paints unit in Sri Lanka. Another highlight was the successful divestment of Berger Paints Singapore unit as part of International portfolio restructuring. Initiated and led the strategy for migration of Berger brand to Asian Paints in GCC markets .

Led the international corporate team guiding Marketing Strategy, Supply Chain excellence and Financial processes in international operations across 12 countries . Successful expansion to Africa through acquisition of Kadisco Paints in Ethiopia, acquisition of Causeway Paints in Sri Lanka and Green field entry into Indonesia .Significant improvement in revenue, market share and profitability of the Caribbean region with revenue growth of over 20% in 2 years and doubling of profits between 2016-2019 in South Pacific region.Led the team and completed the strategic and complex divestment of the Caribbean operations with stake sales in 4 entities, including 2 publicly listed companies across 4 countries . Also undertook the new brand identity creation and brand rejuvenation in SCIB Paints ,Egypt and APCO & Taubmans in South Pacific. Initiated migration to corporate brand Asian Paints in global markets with the implementation of co-branding strategy for Kadisco Paints in Ethiopia and Berger in GCC markets . Also supervised the Engineering team in upgrading and expanding the existing 12 plants and setting up 3 new plants across the countries.

Took up this new and exciting role in International Business with the acquisition of Berger International group Singapore and SCIB Paints Egypt ,expanding global operations from 10 countries to 22 and significant increase in size, complexity and diversity . I was also a core member of the IBU Management council responsible for integration and strategy for the international businesses. I also handled strategic planning for International Business growth , portfolio assessment , expansion of global footprint through exports , acquisitions and licensing arrangements. During this stint I led the corporate support team and established engagement models for integration , transfer of best practices and capability improvement with the philosophy of “Think Global – Act Local".Led the comprehensive brand portfolio assessment of in house & acquired corporate / product brands and implemented brand rationalization and unification ,leading to regional common branding approach. Expanded product range across markets, bridging product gaps , new product contribution reaching 15% of revenue by 2006. Another initiative was the development and roll out of a complete and uniform dealer tinting systems package under Color World brand across global markets, achieving 1200 installations by 2007 . Developed and implemented strategic partnerships through licensing arrangements in Australia, Malta, Indonesia, New Zealand that provided long term brand salience and future options in these markets. Led the reassessment of the expanded international portfolio, prioritizing markets for long term potential and strategic fit and coordinated the divestment of operations in China, Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines .

I was responsible for the decorative sales of the South Division contributing to over 35% of the company decorative sales . Led a large team of managers and sales team across 15 locations covering a network of over 6,000 dealers. Consistent market share gain across the states, leading the country in the introduction and expansion of Color World tinting systems, Apex exterior emulsion and ACE economy emulsion were memorable part of this stint.

Joining the company in Ahmedabad I handled the branch manager roles in sales in Trichy and subsequently in Kochi. As Product Manager in the marketing team in Mumbai I was responsible for the Distemper portfolio, which was the largest volume category in interior coatings . During the stint I launched the Utsav pouch distemper and was part of the team in the very successful launch of Colorworld Tinting system and Apex exterior Emulsion starting in Kerala.
