Nature for Health's mission is to help mitigate Social Drivers of Health (SDoH) for underserved populations – PK-6th grade – when minds are most formative! We have assembled a consortium of sixteen Northeast Ohio (NEO) most impactful, unique, and leading informal nature-based education organizations to develop best practices in nature-based outdoor education, to reach over 250,000 NEO children-many multiple times! The organizations’ collective power will be extremely potent, enabling a consistent message to be woven into the fabric of their educational programs as children move from activities with one organization to involvement with others, harnessing the healing power of repetitive, passion-based learning. Data shows nature-based education has a significant impact on youth behavioral health as well as girls to engage and remain in STEM and pursue those careers. By impacting SDoH, nature-based education will play a major role allaying damaging behaviors. All work being done by CollaboRx, and partners, is pro-bono, with the goal of accessing national, federal, and state behavioral health funding, much of which goes unused. We have engaged three NEO hospital affiliated child psychologists; Cleveland/Akron transportation leaders; legal, finance, technology providers; federal, state lobbyists; and other valuable partners to support our consultative needs – all pro-bono. CollaboRx will engage national, federal, and state funding availability for educational programming, collaborative opportunities, and transportation services – to get NEO’s children and their parents into the parks. We are convinced this initiative will inspire passion, in every child, for nature and the early start of careers in STEM fields! It will also result in far better attitudes toward learning in all areas, dramatically increased behavioral and physical health outcomes, and a successful national model we expect to replicate in Ohio and across the nation.

Great Lakes Biomimicry (GLBio is a 501(c)(3) entrepreneurial organization that helps organizations learn from nature to accelerate innovation. Since its inception in 2010, GLBio has created a biomimicry ecosystem that connects businesses, universities, research, startups, and informal and formal educational institutions. GLBio presents to companies biomimicry thinking as a new innovation tool through professional development, Innovation Services consulting, and the Biomimicry PhD Fellowship Program, with partner The University of Akron, as well as the world’s only biomimicry Corporate Innovation Council (CIC). On August 19, 2021, GLBio became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI), also a 501(c)(3) organization, which will permit both a broader reach for our corporate clients as well as a re-entry into the world of K-12 formal and informal STEM education.

Glengary worked with its leadership to achieve mutually-defined milestones before participating in follow-on rounds of financing, frequently at a size multiple of the initial investment (previously a Managing Director).

Thirty-three year career in the metals industry (Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Co-Steel/Raritan River Steel, American Steel & Wire, Birmingham Steel Corporation, and Republic Technologies International). Responsible for five start-ups, restarts, and/or consolidations, with sales ranging from $250M-$1.5B, encompassing significant turnaround, M&A and IPO experience, partnering directly with investment firms including Primus Venture Partners, PNC Equity Management, Warburg Pincus and The Blackstone Group.

Government and Community Affairs of then Society, now Key, Bank), recruited and assembled Board of Trustees, raised required initial funding, developed strategic plan, secured in-kind physical location and hired Executive Director. BVU engages businesses and nonprofits to work together to strengthen the NEO Community. At its core, BVU links the diverse knowledge and experiences of business leaders with the needs and opportunities of nonprofits. BVU is the nexus for mutually beneficial success that enriches our community. Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2023, BVU is believed to be the largest organization of its kind in the U.S.
