Work in an RMA department evaluating returned mid power lasers, 20 watts up to 1000 watt CW lasers and up to 4500 watt QCW lasers. Troubleshoot and repair laser electronics and fiber optics. Test and qualify lasers to ensure they are working in all modes. Verify modulation and spectrum analysis of laser output. • Splicing fiber optics for guide and power laser outputs. • Using oscilloscopes, multi meters, power supplies, power heads, function generators, IR viewers, OSAs and many hand tools to troubleshoot, test and verify lasers function properly.• Calibrate laser power to ensure accurate power displays• Install and Upgrade laser firmware• Test Diodes to verify no loss in power as well as verify no shorts in any of the diodes.• Using soldering irons to replace or repair surface mount components on circuit boards. • Using schematics to troubleshoot problems with laser systems down to the components on various circuit boards.• Test lasers to customer’s criteria to verify laser is properly working or not work to specification.

Testing and replacing components that has been obsolete or for cost reduction purposes on Momentum machines. Machines run on a CAN circuit. Writing and revising process documents for production personnel for Accela and Momentum machines. Creating and updating checklists for the production personnel. Working with a Chinese company that Speedline Tech uses to outsource the Momentum machine to ensure that they have the current bill of materials, process documents, drawings and checklists. Using MFG/Pro to make any needed engineering changes (i.e. creating or revising bill of materials and revising any documentation). Trained in 80/20, MRD, USa, in lining and 5 S processes. • Saved over $700,000 across several product lines as a result of implementing new process changes. • Reduced time to build by more than 20% • Changed 80% of the hardware used to pre loctited hardware to save time and ensure proper loctite was used on the correct hardware. This stopped any complaints in the field of loose hardware.• Worked with several teams to simplify the product release process and simplify the release of new software changes• Using value stream mapping and lean manufacturing to set up manufacturing line for optimum performance.• Led several teams to simplify or create a new process; i.e. software release, new product release, audit work station time reduction, public drive 5S…..

Used Cadra and Autocad to update drawings, used Excel to update wire run lists and used word to update product spec sheets. Made changes to create and revise bills of materials and drawings using MFG/Pro.  Worked with the R & D department from design review to production release on the Momentum machine release.  Reviewed and corrected assembly prints and bills of materials Wrote several hundred process documents to build and test the Momentum machine. These documents were translated into Mandarin for the Chinese factory. They were also used for field service and the training department.  Worked closely with the Chinese factory to ensure quality machines were built for our Asian customers.  Worked with domestic suppliers to outsource small sub assemblies.
