Electronics Technician Rma Department
CurrentWork in an RMA department evaluating returned mid power lasers, 20 watts up to 1000 watt CW lasers and up to 4500 watt QCW lasers. Troubleshoot and repair laser electronics and fiber optics. Test and qualify lasers to ensure they are working in all modes. Verify modulation and spectrum analysis of laser output. • Splicing fiber optics for guide and power laser outputs. • Using oscilloscopes, multi meters, power supplies, power heads, function generators, IR viewers, OSAs and many hand tools to troubleshoot, test and verify lasers function properly.• Calibrate laser power to ensure accurate power displays• Install and Upgrade laser firmware• Test Diodes to verify no loss in power as well as verify no shorts in any of the diodes.• Using soldering irons to replace or repair surface mount components on circuit boards. • Using schematics to troubleshoot problems with laser systems down to the components on various circuit boards.• Test lasers to customer’s criteria to verify laser is properly working or not work to specification.
