I am a solicitor specialising in providing governance advice to Registered Providers of social housing, schools and academies, charities, health service organisations, football supporters' trusts and other organisations that are either member-based or operating for a social purpose.The kind of work I do includes:- advice on all aspects of governance, including constitutions, directors' duties and board procedure;- corporate, merger and group structuring arrangements; - consumer credit compliance for housing associations;- grant and other funding agreements and related consortium arrangements;- academy conversions;- management agreements, often in the supported housing context; and- contract drafting and review.I spent 6 years as a director and company secretary of Unlimited Potential, a community-focused health organisation in Salford, and 6 years as a board member of OUR Co-operative Academies Trust. I am former company secretary of Supporters Direct, which was previously the representative body for football supporters' trusts.
