- Analyze, compare, evaluate, and verify latent print evidence. - Evaluate and accurately enter latent prints into the ALPS system. - Collaborate with state and federal prosecutors to prepare for testimony in state and federal court. - Serve as an expert witness in the science of friction ridge identification including comparison and identification of latent finger, palm, and footprints.- Prepare reports on fingerprint evidence and methods used for identification and analysis. -Photograph latent prints on evidence using various camera equipment, and prepare photographic enlargements to demonstrate the arrival of a conclusion. - Serve as OCA for the Supervisor and Technical Lead in the Latent Print Unit. - Lead a department’s hiring panel to assess the knowledge, skills, and abilities of candidates.- Conduct training in latent print processing, ACE-V methodology, detection of forged and fabrication latent prints, and digital image processing.

- Located, identified, collected, preserved, and documented physical evidence at crime scenes. - Photographed (including aerial photographs) and videoed crime scenes and evidence.- Recovered and developed latent prints using conventional and technical methods using powders, chemicals, and lasers.- Participated in post-mortem examinations at the San Diego Medical Examiner’s office to take photographs and collect evidence items. - Processed victims, witnesses, and suspects for evidence. - Wrote detailed reports and testified in court as an expert witness. - Served as OCA in the Crime Scene Unit.- Conducted training in crime scene investigation, latent print processing, photography, evidence preservation, and court room testimony.
