Technical finance: Produced the 20/21 Statement of Financial Accounts for the North York Moors National Park Authority.Capital accounting: accounting for assets at year-end, training of capital budget managers in financial systems, ensuring compliance with new accounting standards e.g. IFRS 16 – Accounting for Leases.Building external partnerships: worked closely with the NHS, developing and implementing new invoicing processes and resolving a long-running dispute over outstanding debt.Treasury management: investments, cash flow management and long-term forecasting.VAT and tax management: calculating monthly returns and implementing new processes to ensure compliance with Making Tax Digital legislation.Liaising with external auditors from two different audit firms, responding to queries on both North Yorkshire County Council and North York Moors National Park Authority.Mentoring junior staff as part of the Kickstarter initiative and new trainee accountants.
