I joined Red Bull UK as Head of Sports Communications, promoting the investment ma in a variety of mainstream sport around the world to carefully targeted audiences. I was responsible for the overall strategic business planning and tactical delivery of sports marketing programmes across all forms of media, including broadcast (TV, web, radio, mobile), print (newspapers / magazines) and live events. This included creation of and activation of the annual business planning process and successfully pitching to the Board for the budgets to activate those plans. All plans were devised using innovative creative processes, backed up by audience and brand research that formed the basis of the ongoing evaluation of the activity, all of which I oversaw. In addition to the sports activity, I also played a key role in Corporate and Crisis Communications for the UK market, often acting as a first point of contact for media, as well as providing communications support across a wide range of additional Red Bull UK activity, including experiential programs, events, hospitality, internal communications and employee motivation / training.My key focus was to maximise the return on investment, in consumer interaction, Red Bull generated from contractual relationships including:- Official energy drink of the England Cricket Team- Personal deals with Kevin Pietersen, Freddie Flintoff, Jimmy Bullard, Lewis Moody, Martin Corry and James Cracknell - Red Bull Racing in F1 – UK / Global non-motorsport media- Official energy drink of UK AthleticsTo achieve the tactical goals, I was responsible for the delivery of a number of traditional and cutting-edge communications activities, including:- TV production (Red Bull Racing Fan Car on ITV4)- Online content creation and distribution (Sebastien Loeb and Red Bull Racing broadcast worldwide)- Podcast / Vodcast creation (Chris Hoy’s preparations for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games)- Traditional media relations (numerous
