Promoted into the role of deputy general manager following my predecessor taking his first site. Supporting the general manager in the running of the business. Including successfully running the site in their absence, on both annual leave and paternity leave. Building on my previous roles, identifying opportunities within the business and within its people. Working towards the site vision of “being more than an expectation” through being conscientious and developing the people within the business.  Involved in a vast range of events from annual raft race, gin nights, Burns nights, pub theatre opera and comedy, Euro 2020 and 6 Nations games amongst others  Curating a balanced atmosphere to cater for the diverse guest based driven by both the aforementioned events and location of the site

Took the opportunity at The Ship Inn to further my own development in a significantly higher volume site. Recruited into the business to become a senior leader and to be the succession plan for the incumbent deputy general manager. Contributed to the sites record year, week & day in financial year 2019/2020. Responsibilities included:  Leading the team through the trials and tribulations of Covid-19. We were one of the first sites in the company to reopen following the Covid19 Pandemic. Following ever changing government guidance, navigating multiple forced openings and closures and still growing sales past their like for like comparison.  Scheduling of all front of house shifts, balancing the cost of labour against the weekly needs of the business  Recruitment of new employees, training and development of both new and current employees  Supporting through a 6figure investment. Working through the closure on planning upcoming events, as well as creating training plans for both the team in its entirety and team members as individuals.  Organizing and running events from conception to delivery

Responsibilities included: ● Leading shifts, opening & closing the site. ● Cash checks, banking and processing of expenses ● Taking in and accounting for deliveries. ● Line checking key lines identified by the GM ● Cleaning of cellar/lines & wet stock rotation ● Organizing small functions (wakes, birthdays) from enquiry to delivery. ● Involved in planning, delivery & review of annual events
